TecRec Logo

Our Technical dive team has vast experience in Open Circuit and Closed Circuit diving. Wreck, Cave and Deep Exploration are some of the specialised areas our team has to offer.

CCR Instructor Trainer, Martin Robson, is one of PADI’s Technical Field Consultants and one of just three Designated Instructor Trainers responsible for helping launch the PADI Rebreather Courses.  He is also one of the co-authors of the PADI Rebreather programme. Here at Scubamunkies we are able to offer the highest level of Rebreather courses at diver and Instructor level through Martin.

We can teach the new PADI Rebreather courses on Poseidon Mk VI Discovery and the new Rec units from APD.

We can teach Evolution, Evolution+ and Inspiration Vision, VRT Sentinel, KISS and Sport Kiss for Tec 40 CCR and IANTD Mod 1 plus Megalodon & JJ-CCR for Tec 60 & Normoxic Trimix.

The pinnacle of CCR diving, the Expedition CCR course covers the skills necessary when undertaking deep expedition level dives. The programme covers advanced decompression theory, including the use of habitats where appropriate, equipment management, team management, gas planning and support diver training. The course can be integrated with DPV training or any other skill set if required. Other aspects such as Rescue, First Aid training and O2 provider courses can easily be added in to the programme.

All of the above programmes can be run in a cave environment for divers who are CCR Cave certified and have sufficient experience. These courses can be run in Australia and Florida. Please feel free to contact one of our consultants.

Store owner, Matthew Hopkins, is one of PADI’s leading OC Trimix trainers in Australia with over 10 years of local dive experience in depths of excess of 100 meters. Search and recovery, deep wreck penetration and local explorations are Matthew’s main passion. His knowledge and experience in these environments are passed onto you when you undertake one of his training programs. Not only do you learn the skills necessary to survive but you take away the passion that has taken Matthew around the world.

We can teach all levels of technical training including the new PADI Rebreather courses on Poseidon Mk VI Discovery and the new Rec units from APD.

We can teach Evolution, Evolution+ and Inspiration Vision, VRT Sentinel, KISS and Sport Kiss for Tec 40 CCR and IANTD Mod 1 plus Megalodon & JJ-CCR for Tec 60 & Normoxic Trimix.

You will learn how to use decompression software and dive computers to plan and make decompression dives with no more than 10 minutes of total decompression and not deeper than 40 metres/130 feet. You will also learn how to use a single cylinder of decompression gas with up to 50 percent oxygen (EANx50) to add conservatism to the required decompression. Your 4 dives are conducted from our boat leaving from Careel Bay.

More people are diving with enriched air and this means the demand for enriched air fills is also increasing.

However, there needs to be someone qualified to administer these fills to meet this demand. This is where the PADI Gas Blender course comes in.

It can result in one of two certifications: PADI Gas Blender or PADI Trimix Blender.

Technical scuba diving trainingThe Gas Blender course will train you as a qualified gas blender, allowing you to provide gas mixes to appropriately certified consumers.

You'll learn the physical properties of oxygen, its associated hazards, handling requirements and what cleaning equipment is necessary. Finally, you will learn the five methods of obtaining the desired enriched air nitrox mix and the various methods used to obtain proper helium mixes.

Prerequisites

  • A PADI Enriched Air Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
